New year, new goals and manifestations

we have begun a brand new year and although everything lately is uncertain, confusing and disappointing I still want to be able to set goals and manifestations for this year.

I have reached that stage in my life where if I do not achieve a goal I don’t beat myself up about it, I just change the goal or let it go. This is because, if I did not achieve it there must have been some reason and so I either make it more achievable or I purely just let it go and focus on other goals.

The pressure

One main thing that comes with beginning a new year is how we all feel that we “must set goals” and that we “must achieve them all” otherwise we are “failures”. However, to me I look at January as just another beginning, another month.

I personally do love to set yearly goals, but I also break these down to monthly or weekly goals so that I constantly have things to motivate me or work towards.

I wrote in my previous post that you need to set yourself realistic goals, and this is because you are more likely to achieve them. After Christmas we should not pressure ourselves into doing too much, but instead slowly ease ourselves back into work, or back into a routine etc. Be kind to yourself and set goals that are realistic.

But remember that even if you do not achieve that particular goal then think about why you did not achieve it. Maybe you were just not interested (so let it go), maybe it was too hard (so make it easier) but never make yourself feel bad about not achieving it.

Goals for 2021

I am going to break these down into different sections so that it is clear for me and I know exactly what I want to work towards.

Health and fitness

  • Run 500 miles by the end of the year

During 2020 one of my goals was to run 250 miles by the end of the year, and I managed 256 miles which I am very happy about. However, this year I decided to double it and I have set out my plan and how many miles I want to run a week (and I have of course accounted for any weeks off I might have).

  • Workout 4 times a week

I already pretty much do this so I would just love to continue this into this year and keep my fitness up.

  • Cook more homemade meals throughout the week

I want to not only cook more healthy meals but make more of them from scratch as I just don’t think anything can beat homemade food.

  • Buy a house by the end of the year

This is a huge goal but things are looking much better for myself and Ryan, and so this is much more achievable for us during 2021. I am so excited and nervous about this whole process but let’s see where 2021 takes us.

  • Read 20 books

You know I started off 2020 reading loads of books and feeling great, and then by the end of the year I sort of gave it up. However, I am setting myself a small goal of 20 books as I feel that would be achievable for me and then I can break this down monthly etc.


  • Begin email marketing for my blog

I have wanted to do this for such a long time, and I would love to send out emails either once a month or twice. I feel like these can be such great things if done in the right way. It is also such a great way to connect with your audience.

  • Gain 3,000 monthly views a month on the blog

2020 was such a great year for my blog and I have grown and read so much to help me (including buying eBooks etc). I consistently averaged around 1,500-2,500 a month throughout the year, making 2020 my best year for my blog. Therefore, this year I want to increase that and aim for consistently gaining 3,000 views a month on my blog.

  • Work with 2 brands

I have not personally worked with brands before so this is still all new to me, but I definitely want to try and give it a go this year. Therefore, I am setting myself the small target of just 2 brands by the end of the year.

  • Gain over 1000 followers

Currently I have over 500 of you lovely people following. I would just personally love to keep growing it, and although this particular goal I am not fixated on it is just there to work towards.

Some of you may know but I began my new business (GemzCrafts) in November last year. It was such an achievement for me to actually sell some products that I made and for people to love them.

Currently I am working on products behind the scenes for a re-launch but I am so excited to see where this goes and what I can do with it. Plus it feels pretty cool to say I am a business owner. So any support would be much appreciated even if it is just a follow.

  • Sell 2 products a week

Once I launch my new products I would love to work at selling 2 products a week, this I feel for a new business is a nice target and one that is achievable especially as I work as well.

  • Host a giveaway

Once I make 30 sales I would love to host my first giveaway. I always enter them when other people do them and I think it is such a great way to grow your business, meet new people/engage with people and just have a bit of fun.

  • Make 50 sales by July

Now considering if I stick to selling the 2 products a week it would total to more than 50 sales by the end of the year, however I am setting a nice small target of just making 50 sales by July as I think that is a great achievement for me.

  • Set up a site for my business

At the moment my products are being sold over Twitter and Instagram through PayPal as this is just an easy way to do it at the moment. However, by the end of the year I would love to have a website for my products.

New year, new goals and manifestations!

There you have it my goals and manifestations for the year 2021. I do have other goals such as for my finances and for some of the categories that I mentioned but I am keeping them to myself as they are personal.

These are just for me as I love goal-setting and having goals to keep me motivated. However, do not feel like you should set goals if it is not for you- we all work differently. Also do not feel like you are not achieving anything because of other people’s goals too. It could be that one of your goals is to just slow down, switch off from social media or even just get out of bed. These are all valuable and great goals too.

I am hoping 2021 is a year full of love and health for you. Make sure to focus on you, do what makes you happy and stop comparing with other people.

  1. Great goals. 500 miles? That’s an incredible goal and I’m totally in awe that it’s something you’re actually setting yourself to do. I’ve been trying so hard to get into running but as a beginner, it’s harddddd!

  2. Great goals and I really like how you’ve broken them down into smaller ones too – makes it so much more manageable! This year I’ve gone for habit changes rather than actual goals where I really want to work on my MH and general fitness.
