Happy Halloween! Here we are on a Spooktacular day and I am all for it. Unfortunately for me I have some training to do during the day, but once that is all done I will be food prepping and enjoying my spooky day.
We love to do a party spread on Halloween, however this year I am making sure the food is done in true spooky style using my Halloween party food ideas I posted previously.
I am not sure why I love Halloween so much, but there is just something about it that makes me so happy. I love pumpkins and pumpkin picking, I love decorating and I love Horror/Halloween movies (so I guess that kind of explains why I love it then).
Halloween Question time!
Today in honour of Halloween I thought I would do something a bit different and answer some Halloween themed questions. I am using a selection of questions from this blogger that I found on google called the “30 spooky Halloween tag questions” so you can go check that out as well. For now let’s get into the questions!
Favourite Horror villain/monster?
If we are referring to maybe film characters then definitely my favourite is Michael Myers from Halloween. I watch this every year as tradition for Halloween, but I just think it is a classic and brilliant horror movie.
If we are referring to monsters then I would like to say I love vampires, but I am not too sure if I would class them as monsters unless they are horrible vampires. Not like the ones we see in movies.
The creepiest thing that has ever happened while you were alone?
I remember when I was studying at University I was upstairs studying in my room (in my uni house) and I heard a door slam. Just assuming it was my housemate I carried on, but then I didn’t hear anyone walking around or anything so I put in our group chat something like “who just came home?” and once everyone replied “not me” then I got worried.
I picked up something and slowly walked down the stairs, then I saw the door in our kitchen was shut. Honestly haven’t been so scared in my life, I went over though opened it and checked the rest of the house and no one was around. But, that kitchen door was not shut before and there were no windows open so I have no idea and will never have an idea of what that was. Also noting strange ever happened after that so I don’t know.
If you were dared to spend the night in a haunted house, would you do it?
I did mention in my spooky places to stay in the UK that I would like to stay in a haunted place just once in my life to say I have done it really. In reality I would probably be a lot more scared and I understand it is not really for everyone.
Are you superstitious?
I think in a certain way then yes I am because I believe that there is something else out there. Whether I think it’s a “ghost” or not is something else, and I am not really sure.
I do think though with other things such as walking over three drains, breaking a mirror or saluting a magpie is nothing more than in our heads. Kind of like manifestation if we believe it so much then we will attract that into our life.
Do you prefer gore or thrillers?
I can easily watch a gory film, but they don’t scare me or interest me as much as a thriller. So I guess I would say a thriller because normally you get a good storyline and it is more interesting to follow.
Do you get scared easily?
I am an incredibly jumpy person, but it takes a LOT to actually scare me. For example, if you were to tell me a creepy story or something then I would be fine. I am also fine watching horror movies and hearing noises in my house. But people can make me jump very easily.
If you got trapped in one scary movie, which one would it be?
I am not getting trapped in some paranormal movie because that is just too much. But probably go back to Halloween because I have seen it loads so I would like to think I would know what to do. That being said maybe if Michael Myers showed up in my home I would probably still be scared.
In a zombie apocalypse what is your weapon of choice?
I mean I used to watch “The walking dead” and I did love the cross bow weapon, not sure if I would be as good as using it but that would be pretty cool. Realistically if one started like now it would have to be something in my home, so maybe a baseball bat with nails sticking out of it? I don’t know.
Do you have to watch something happy after watching a horror movie to help you sleep?
No I usually can just go straight to sleep, nothing I watch bothers me that much. But then again I usually watch horror movies during the day, not for any reason but just because that is the time to watch them that I can get.
How old were you when you saw your first horror movie?
I am not too sure but I remember watching Goosebumps with my brother when we were younger. I also remember coming down stairs and my dad was watching “Final destination” and I accidentally saw a bit of it when I was about 10 or 11 years old. But fully watching a whole horror movie was probably early teens.
