4th July Throwback to New York

I am currently reflecting about how much has happened within the last year. Life can really throw some ultimate curve-balls. I feel like I have dodged a lot of them this year especially.

However, today I wanted to have a little throwback post in honour of the 4th of July. Basically this time last year I was in New York with Ryan and it was perfect.

New York had been a dream of mine since I was little, and I had dreams of seeing the beautiful Statue of Liberty. I even believed I would grow up and work in New York, which to be fair was probably due to watching a lot of American TV programmes or films.

Anyway, lets get into the

4th July throwback to New York

New York is known for it’s iconic skyscrapers, the beautiful Central Park and the spectacularly lit Times Square. There is also plenty of things to do and food places which are a must! But that is not in today’s post.

We actually flew out on the 4th July last year and landed in the evening. Therefore, we didn’t actually get to spend the day there for the 4th July but we did get to hear and see some fireworks. This is definitely something I would love to come back for and experience properly at some point.

What we did

One of my favourite things was just exploring. We walked around Central Park (which was beautiful), we visited the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and 9/11 Museum. Also we went up the Rockefeller Centre and did some shopping. However, you can read all of that from my previous posts I have linked.

This year

In celebration of trying to just remember some great memories we decided to have some food that we enjoyed whilst in New York. Obviously we couldn’t eat all the amazing food that we experienced in New York, so we decided on recreating the amazing hot dog and fries that we enjoyed at Coney Island.

I am not going to lie but I had fun creating this fun and super easy meal. Plus it was delicious to eat. Also we chose to watch an American film (we went for “Reservoir Dogs”) and had a lovely date lunch and movie!

It was just a lovely day to look back on a great trip and one we were both excited about. I did actually make a photo book with our pictures so it was nice to look through them together and discuss our memories too.

Looking back

Looking back through the wonderful memories we created I am excited for when we can travel safely again. There are many places on my list that I would love to get through. Plus I would LOVE to do a solo backpacking trip at some point.

Have you ever been to New York?

There you have it my lovely

  1. These pictures are so gorgeous! I went to New York with my family, back in 2015 and because I was just 14 I think I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would now! I did love it back then as well, but I would love to go back someday and see it from an entirely different perspective!

    1. Thank you so much! I definitely do recommend going back as an adult because it would be a completely different experience, and as you said get a new perspective from it πŸ™‚ xx
