Hello, I am back with a post all about my recent trip to Brighton, and I love Brighton I really do. Plus I got to travel with my other half Ryan as we were celebrating four years of being together!
That is a long time and I have loved every minute. As soppy as it sounds he is the one for me. Anyway enough of the soppy stuff and let’s get into what we got up too…
It takes approx. 1 hour and a half to get to Brighton from where we live, which is not too bad. However, we decided to set off early and make the most of our day (as we were not staying there overnight).
The first thing we did when we arrived was head straight to the shops, just to have a wander before it got busy. There is a lovely shopping centre not too far from the main station and it has all the typical shops such as; H&M, New look and there is a Primark not so far down the road too.
Of course we could not go to Brighton without heading straight to the Pier! It was still nice and quiet (which we loved), but I still love walking along a pier and just looking at the views. It is just beautiful. Plus, it gives us a reason to be silly kids again and have a go in the arcades. I did attempt the “grabby” machine thing, but did not stand a chance. Clearly it was not my day to receive a giant dragon cuddly toy. However, one of my favourite games to play in the arcades is the “basketball game”, because I am quite good and I just enjoy it.
Once we finished on the Pier we then headed for a cute stroll along the beach. Although the sun made an appearance and it looked gorgeous it was still cold, so I wrapped up in my hat, scarf, coat and gloves.
One of the places myself and Ryan went to on our first ever visit to Brighton together was to this American Diner. It is along the sea front and tends to be busy. However, I remember recommending it to Ryan and so we went there for the first time 3 years ago now. Therefore, of course it made sense to relive that moment and go to that place again!
I really love the atmosphere and music and the food is pretty great too (Apologies I completely forgot to take a picture)! I went with a burger and Ryan chose a nacho hot dog with fries. Overall, we had a great experience and were happy with the food and our drinks.
I am not sure if this is the name or just what myself and Ryan call them, but we headed to “the lanes” after we ate to look around the shops and town. There is a mixture of local businesses and some more expensive brands alongside this part. But you could probably get some pretty cute insta shots (which I didn’t do because I am useless).
I did end up buying some new Nike gloves/headband and a long sleeved running top. These will be perfect for me and I will definitely get some wear out of them, especially whilst I am training at the moment! I might make a separate post on my running plans for 2020 if people are interested?
We didn’t really do much else, so I think I shall leave it there. I definitely recommend visiting Brighton if you are near because it is just a beautiful place. Of course it is pretty special for me and Ryan so I love it when we get to go together. Also it is somewhere I have gone for years anyway.
Have you been to Brighton before? What places to go in Brighton do you recommend?
