Hi there, welcome back to my blog if you are new I am Gemma and I love spooky season. I am really enjoying my blog at the moment and I love all things Autumn/Halloween (in case you didn’t get that from the billion times I have mentioned it haha). I also have some content over on instagram so head over there if you wish. Therefore, to continue with this theme for the month today I am going to be talking about spooky date nights.
I am sure not everyone is up for spooky season, but if you are then hopefully these different ideas will be great for you to use! Even if you are not into it then just take out the spooky from the date and voila you can just have a normal date!
- Spooky Night in
First of all something that does not require a lot of money is just simply having a night in. You can create a dinner with the spooky theme or even create cakes or biscuits in the forms of ghosts, pumpkins, witches etc to add the Halloween or spooky theme to the evening. Additionally, this night to make it extra spooky you can watch some of your favourite horror films or even a new one you have not seen before. This is something you can do if you are on a budget but still want to enjoy Halloween. However, you can also put up decorations, lights and make party food for a picnic if you do want to spend some extra money and go all out! Perfect for all budgets!
I mean around this time of year you tend to see a few horror or thriller films out in the Cinema’s (I mean they do come out all year but still). Therefore, if you do want to make it a night out a cinema date could be cool. To make it extra spooky of course seeing a thriller or horror film would fit the spooky date night. However, if that is not your thing then just a normal film would do haha. I know the film “Joker” is out right now and honestly that ticks all my spooky feels.
- Escape rooms
I feel like these have become such a big deal at the moment, I mean I hear about them all the time and they are just constantly growing. I am competitive so I love an escape room. However, of course for spooky season why not try a scary escape room? I mean this might be more of like a double date or getting a group of couples together in order to do the escape room. But I think that would be quite fun if a group of you did it. I have seen some zombie themed escape rooms in London but haven’t actually done them before.
Have you ever done an escape room? Bonus points if you can tell me what a spooky escape room is like?
- Horror events
Last but not least of course attending horror themed events would definitely be a spooky date night. There are some farms in the UK that I know about you can go to and are definitely in for a scare haha. Last year (I wrote about it here) myself and friends went to the London Tombs for their “Hillbilly” event and yes I can say I was scared. This event was probably the most horrible and scary event I have ever been too, and I have been to a few now. But, I do recommend reading up about them and restrictions or things you might have to do, because I was not prepared to crawl through a dark tunnel or squeeze myself through tiny gaps. However, that was our fault for not reading about it online when we booked the tickets haha. I did really enjoy it though and I seem to love being scared because I keep going back to these events haha.
Are you into Halloween/scary events? What are some of your recommendations for spooky date nights?
Thanks for reading, spooky season is not for everyone but you can alter these date night ideas to cater to how scary or not you want your date night! If you enjoyed give a like, follow and comment! See you soon for more Autumn/Halloween themed posts.🎃🧡
