Bake Off Inspired “Cookies”…

Every year I watch bake off and I actually love it, and so this year I wanted to set myself a challenge of attempting each week that is given to the people on the show. By this I mean the “theme” I guess of the week. Last week it was “biscuits” and so I attempted to make cookies, because I love them I guess haha. I probably won’t write a post for every week, but I will probably have it on my Instagram with updates there.

So I kind of cheated a bit because I saw Paul Hollywood’s box in the supermarket and honestly it was that that inspired me to do this. So I did get the mix rather than making everything from scratch, but I still attempted them in a way haha.

This box is great because it has all the instructions and what to do, and all you have to do is add milk and butter (so just be aware of that if you have any allergies or things you don’t eat etc). I will add a link here which I found that has the complete recipe for his cookies, so you can check that out if you want. Also you can change the cookies to however you want them, and make them vegan or your own. So I won’t list ingredients as they will be online or on the box if you want to check them out.

If any of you do attempt to make cookies or have any recipes then feel free to show me in the comments!

Some of my favourite cookies are red velvet cookies (yes these are amazing), but also double chocolate cookies and these ones were chocolate cookies.

I am not going to go too much into detail of what to do because it is all on the packaging, so if you want to try them yourselves then you can!

It also has extra ingredients that you can add into your cookies, so for my cookies I added chocolate chips but you could also add fruit or whatever you wanted.

Once you mix all the ingredients together you then mould it into a roll like shape I guess, I mean I was just copying what the picture looked like haha. This then sits in the fridge for 30 minutes to “set”. After this you then cut them into the shapes and in the oven they go for about 10-15 minutes. Just make sure you keep checking on them every now and then.

These are my finished results… One of the cookies I dropped on the table as I was picking it up so it did crumble a bit haha. But overall I am pretty pleased with this attempt of cookies. I have made cookies once before and they did not turn out well at all, and that was a complete home made attempt haha! This box made about 10 cookies as it suggested.

This upcoming week is bread week and I have my ingredients at the ready and I am excited because I have never made my own bread before so this will be fun.

What are your favourite biscuits? Do you watch bake-off?

Thanks for reading and if you enjoyed give a like, comment and follow for more!
