New York Diaries: Day 4, 5, 6 and 7

Hi guys hope you are all well! I was going to separate these last two posts for New York but I think I am just going to try and put them into one post (this one)! Also I cannot believe it has nearly been a month since we flew out to New York already! Where has the time gone? You can catch up on my previous days here and here.

Day 4

Day 4 of our trip we decided we wanted to head on and explore China Town and Little Italy. Although before we went people had told us that it is not that impressive, but we still wanted to just see it so we knew I guess.

However, alas the people were right and myself and Ryan we not impressed by what we saw. I don’t really know what we were expecting but it just didn’t really have an impact on us like the one in London (which I love).

Instead we decided to walk back and go into this cute Italian restaurant that we had walked past a previous day for lunch. The food was great but not overly impressive. Then we headed back to our hotel for a bit before then heading out to the Hudson River.

I think we choose the perfect time because it just looked so beautiful, especially with the sun shining onto it. Also we ended up finding this weird staircase thing which we did want to go up but you had to pay and we didn’t think it was worth it. So we just took our pictures from below it and then headed into a shopping centre (or “mall” I guess as Americans call it) that was next to it. After this we just headed back to our hotel to eat.

Day 5

Day 5 of our trip we had dedicated as “shopping” day, however this was overly disappointing as I just couldn’t find anything that I actually wanted to buy. I mean there were a variety of shops and I loved walking around, but it was just one of them days where nothing was what I wanted.

However, we ended up going to this cute diner for cake and honestly it was the biggest slice of chocolate cake I have ever had (I mean you can tell how happy I was from the picture). We then headed around some more shops before deciding where to go for dinner. We ended up just going to a place opposite our hotel which looked pretty cool.

It just looked like how I imagined an American bar to look and I loved it. We got a chicken starter which was recommend to us (which was HOT but tasted great), and then we shared a platter of ribs, chicken and chips. We also both got cocktails because why not. Once we had finished in there it was pretty late so we headed back to our room.

Day 6

Day 6 of our trip was another exciting day because we were going to Coney Island, and I had heard so much about it and was just excited to see a beach! We headed out early and got the subway straight to Coney Island. I was a bit nervous about the subway but this was actually really easy and we only had to get one train so perfect!

Once we got there it was already hot but it looked so cool. It just didn’t feel like we were in New York anymore, it felt like we were on a beach holiday. I loved the fact music was blaring out and there was a hot dog place which myself and Ryan had already eyed up for our lunch. We ended up going for a long walk right along the beach and then walked all the way back and walked through the funfair thing and ended up walking up and reading about the baseball ground that was there. We would have loved to have seen a game but it wasn’t on until later and we didn’t want to use the subway late at night.

We then got a hot dog and shared chips (Fries) which was honestly amazing. I did go on a couple of rides as well, Ryan joined me for one and then I went solo on the other. We then headed back home.

Once we got back we decided to go into this cool arcade which we had walked past many times. It was pretty cool, but a bit confusing because in the UK we just use cash for everything whereas in this one you had to top up a card and then use the “credits” to pay for the different games. It was weird but I guess makes sense. We then went for dinner in the diner, and after went for a couple of drinks until late.

Day 7

Day 7 and our last day. We didn’t have any plans really but because our flight wasn’t until 10 pm. Therefore we had the day to explore. So we decided to wait until check out and then the hotel looked after our luggage whilst we went out. We went for breakfast in a cute cafe and then headed to Madison Square Garden.

After a few pictures we then headed to central park again because I wanted to see it again before we left. It is just so beautiful and I cannot get over it.

Also I had to get a picture on the MET steps because Gossip Girl and ya know I just had to. After this we picked up an ice cream and then began a slow walk back to our hotel. Then it was a long wait until our transfer to the airport, which turned out to be a limo!! Like it honestly took us by surprise that TUI (who we booked with) had organised a limo to take us to the airport. But it was the longest ride EVER because of the traffic and storm. But we made it and I was seriously jet lagged after.

Sorry if this was a bit longer, but I thought it made sense if I put them all into one post so I am not throwing my New York Diaries in your face too much. I had such a great time and I definitely recommend! If you would like to know anything then just let me know in the comments!

Tell me one place you have been that you recommend for us to go to next?

Thanks for reading, if you enjoyed then like, comment and follow for more posts!💚
