Tenerife 2018

I apologise it has been a long time since I have posted, but you can check out what was on my holiday essentials for this trip before you read this. Basically I went on holiday which was amazing, I had such a lovely time. Then I have kind of been feeling the holiday blues for the last two weeks (as well as being busy).

I think having a holiday whether you decide to go abroad or stay in your country is just a great way to unwind. Plus I never actually want the holiday to end. However, sadly it is back to reality and I only can reminisce of the fun I had on holiday.

As a result, I thought I would review and write about my holiday in a blog post.

First of all as mentioned in my title I went to Tenerife. It was my first time visiting this place but my boyfriend’s third time. Therefore, this made it easier in that he knew his way around and where to go.

I shall split what we got up to into different days so it is less confusing and if I mention anywhere we went that I would recommend! I shall first mention we went from Saturday to Saturday, so just one week and it was all inclusive.

SUNDAY

As this was our first proper day at our hotel of course we just wanted a day of pure relaxation and doing nothing. Therefore, we knew this day was just going to be spent by the pool and laying around on our sunbeds.

As we chose the start of June it was quite quiet which was nice, and we never had to fight for a sunbed on any of the days which was a plus.

I should also mention that the hotel we stayed in Sandos San Blas Nature Resort & Golf 5*. As I have mentioned my boyfriend has previously stayed here so it was a recommendation from him, but had some great reviews!

This hotel had a choice of eight different swimming pools, which I was not expecting. However, this is great to be able to have the choice of where you want to go for a swim. However, do you research as some pools cater for different needs (for example, one pool was adults only).

Also inside our hotel there was a little games room and a ping pong table. Therefore, of course we decided to have a game. It was not massive, but considering this type of holiday is meant for the sun you will probably be spending the majority of your days outside.

The last thing we decided to do this day was go on one of the canoes. This hotel has a cute little boat lake and although I didn’t stir it was so beautiful and fun.

MONDAY

After the most perfect Sunday we decided that we wanted to just have another day to just relax. I mean this is sort of what happened… But first we woke up early and decided to go on a hike to really explore the mountains/local area. Plus we thought this would be the best time to go before it got too hot.

It was not a massive hike, but long enough so if you are not into walking then maybe just stay in the resort. However, the views were incredible and I am an explorer so it was nice to just walk around the local area. It did start to get hot though so definitely make sure you remember to take your water to stay hydrated!

Once we got back we had some lunch and then just chilled in and by the pool again.

TUESDAY

I will point out that we did actually plan each day on the Saturday we arrived as this just made it easier to focus on what we wanted to do.

Anyway this day was another early start as we decided to get the bus into town and find some mini golf to play. The leaflet that we picked up with the mini golf on it made it look amazing so we were excited. However, it was not what we were expecting and we were probably a little disappointed. It was still great fun and very quiet so that was a nice element. Plus we go to explore the local town for a little bit afterwards.

Once we got back we just sat on our sunbeds for a bit and chilled.

WEDNESDAY

Today was the day we were most excited for and that was because we were going to Siam Park. If you have not heard of this then it is one of the worlds best water parks, and it really did live up to its expectations.

There was so much to do and we managed to go on most of the rides quite a few times. We got there just before opening and it was probably the best thing to do, because we got in quick and managed to get on some rides before the bigger ones opened.

The lazy river was fun as well, although I did get sunburn from floating around. I do recommend regularly going back to your locker and reapplying sun cream.

But if you are into rides and water then this is the one for you. It was definitely one of our favourite days.

THURSDAY

This day we thought it would be fun to go on the submarine trip. My boyfriend had been on it once before, but I wanted to give it a try. I am not a massive fan of boats in general, but I was willing to give this one a go.

I did get some cool pictures and videos and it was a new experience. However, I feel it was overpriced for what it was, and there wasn’t much to see. It could be done to the fact we went at the wrong time or maybe it was more for kids. However, it was still a fun experience.

After this we went back to the hotel and just chilled.

FRIDAY

This was our final day which made us feel a bit sad, plus it was cloudy which didn’t help. Therefore, spending the day sunbathing and swimming did not look too good for us. We stayed out for as long as we could and then just went back to our room to get ready for dinner.

I will mention that the selection of food all week was great and we both really enjoyed the buffet style food.

SATURDAY

Our flight was a late one but we had to check out of our room at 11 am so we left our luggage behind the reception and decided to go for a stroll to the local town and look around the shops. It was very cute and the shops had the typical things you would expect if you wanted to buy gifts for people back home. It worked because I bought a cactus plant for my brother.

This is a long one, but I have a lot to say haha. If you have made it this far thank you very much, and I will be posting regularly again and I have many posts and ideas that I want to write about so look forward to that.

Thanks for reading,
