My Holiday Essentials

I am going away at the beginning of June and I am beyond excited. I think when you are constantly working full time and stuck in that routine and work life sometimes you just need a break and to get away. Especially as my job is super demanding both physically and emotionally, so having that holiday gives you something to look forward too.

Therefore, today I wanted to share with you all what I will be packing, and consider my holiday essentials.

These are just what I consider my essentials and I know that everyone is different and will take different things.

Product picture of a cream reusable bag with golden pineapples on it, and a see through bag over it. A blue Instax camera next to it, a stripey cream and yellow plant pot and shiny cream flip flops.

A beach bag

As you can see I found this cute pineapple bag from Primark and I absolutely adore it. You can actually use it as two different bags which is a great idea. The bag inside you can use as a normal bag and then you can take the one over it to the beach or by the pool as it it waterproof. You can also just use it as it is, and I think that is how I will actually use it.

A beach bag is essential for me because if you are on a beach holiday then this just makes it easier to carry everything with you. You can store your beach towels, sun screen, drinks, money and anything else. Plus it is easy to carry around and you just look cute.

Of course there are a range of beach bags out there so if you prefer a more plain bag then there is choice for that.

Two pairs of flip flops. One pair has pink and different colours of greens on them. The other pair is a cream shiny gold colour.

Flip flops

I think when you are going on a beach holiday it is important to pack a few pairs of flip flops. I mean you pretty much live in them throughout your whole holiday and so if they broke you want to have a spare with you.

Personally for me I like to have a couple of cheap pairs, which I normally get from Primark. Then I tend to take one more expensive pair, just for date nights or days out etc.

A woman wearing a black and cream big hat, whilst holding it with one hand on one side. Wearing a white crop top with a motorbike and some writing on it.

Hat

I completely understand that hat’s are not for everyone, but they are essential for me. Also they really suit me (and I mean I seem to suit any and every hat). Plus I love styling them with holiday wear and just walking around the beach or by the pool in the sun. Basically I love a good holiday hat.

Two pairs of sunglasses. One pair is pink and gold, and the other are black.

Sunglasses

Some other things to consider are sunglasses. That may seem pretty obvious but you would be surprised how many people forget the little things. There are some nice sunglasses in River Island, New look and Top shop at the moment so definitely go check out there if you need some new ones.

I bought both of these from River Island for about £8.99 each, which I think is pretty reasonable. However, you could also check out Primark for a cheaper pair if you don’t want to spend a lot of money.

Other

Other little things to remember are sunscreen and after sun (both essential for a hot trip, not so much for the colder weather holidays). You also need to make sure you have your passport and any other important documents you feel you might need to take.

It would also be good to pack a plug to take. for example I am going to somewhere in Europe so I would need a plug to be able to charge my phone. And of course don’t forget your money.

Also its important to not forget toiletries such as, toothbrush, toothpaste, shavers, shampoo and conditioner, make-up and make-up remover, pads and medication. If like me you are on the pill then definitely make sure you pack it, and also some ibuprofen or plasters just in case.

Lastly, it would also be essential to pack clothes for the correct weather. For me I am going to hot sunshine so packing shorts, skirts, dresses, thin tops and swim wear are my essentials.

These are some of my essentials and things to pack with me on holiday. As I said I am super excited and counting down the days.
